DPR for Elevated Traffic Corridor Along Dravyavati River Approved; Development Works Worth Crores, Including Sports Complex, Given Green Signal
Boost for Traffic Improvement, Sports Infrastructure, and New Schemes

Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and the guidance of the Minister for Urban Development and Housing, Jhabar Singh Kharra, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is continuously striving for the holistic development of Jaipur. In line with this endeavor, a crucial meeting of the JDA’s Project Works Committee (PWC) was held on Friday, presided over by Jaipur Development Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan. During the meeting, several significant proposals aimed at strengthening the city’s infrastructure, improving traffic management systems, and accelerating new development schemes were deliberated upon, leading to the issuance of administrative and financial sanctions worth crores of rupees.
To alleviate traffic congestion in Jaipur city and to address future requirements, administrative and financial approval amounting to ₹6.00 crore was granted for the preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed Elevated Traffic Corridor running along the Dravyavati River. The implementation of this project is expected to significantly enhance traffic flow within the city and lead to a substantial reduction in traffic congestion.
Continuing in this vein, administrative and financial approval amounting to ₹16.67 crore was granted for the construction of box culverts at four locations along the Dravyavati River, with the objective of facilitating smoother vehicular movement.
To further enhance traffic management, *ex-post facto* administrative and financial approval amounting to ₹12.12 crore was granted for the construction of an at-grade U-turn facility on Hare Krishna Marg (Mahal Road) in Zone-9. Additionally, administrative and financial approval amounting to ₹6.09 crore was issued for road construction works in the remaining area of the ‘Loha Mandi Scheme’ in Zone-6.
Taking significant steps towards boosting sports infrastructure, administrative and financial approval amounting to ₹7.90 crore was granted for the construction and development of a modern sports complex along the banks of the Dravyavati River. Additionally, the planning for the land allocated to the Rajasthan State Sports Council for a proposed outdoor stadium in the Jaisinghpura Khor area was also approved.
During the meeting, permission was granted to present preliminary land pooling schemes for the Shivdaspura, Chandlai, and Barkheda areas situated along Tonk Road, thereby ensuring the planned development of these regions.
Furthermore, approval was granted for the allocation of land for a sewage pumping station under the Nagar Nigam Heritage’s ‘AMRUT 2.0 Scheme,’ the planning of 4.57 hectares of land transferred between the JDA and RIICO, and the replanning of Block-II of the JDA’s ‘Central Spine Scheme.’
Jaipur Development Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan stated that the implementation of these projects would strengthen the city’s traffic management and infrastructure, giving fresh momentum to the planned and sustainable development of Jaipur.
Secretary Nishant Jain, Director of Planning Mrinal Joshi, Director of Engineering (I) Devendra Gupta, along with other senior officials, were present at the meeting.
