Planned development plans will be formulated keeping the needs of the growing population at the center: Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that in line with the goal of a developed Rajasthan by 2047, master plans will be prepared for every village and ward in the state. These master plans will include future needs and suggestions from all age groups, including women, youth, the poor, and farmers, to reflect public aspirations.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma was chairing a meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office on Tuesday regarding the proposed campaign for master plans for gram panchayats and urban wards, following the budget announcement. He said that the master plans for panchayats and wards should be divided into short-, medium-, and long-term categories to ensure that the needs of the growing population are met.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stated that the objective of these master plans is to achieve planned development in rural areas, preventing rural migration and reducing the burden on cities. He provided specific guidelines for developing master plans using an evidence-based approach to include basic amenities such as education, healthcare, electricity, water, roads, and sanitation.
Master plans will be based on the core principles of development as well as heritage.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stated that plans should be developed in accordance with the traditions, crafts, and religious and historical significance of rural areas, while also focusing on the core principles of heritage. These plans aim to create employment opportunities in rural areas and preserve and enhance the social and cultural environment of the villagers.

In the meeting, officials informed the Chief Minister that in the proposed campaign, master plans will be approved through Gram Sabhas. After this, the concerned departments will be able to formulate effective plans, policies and programmes. In these master plans, special focus should be given on major sources of employment, measures to increase agricultural production, self-employment opportunities etc. Besides, eligible persons will be identified and their inclusion in government schemes will also be ensured.
