Jaipur. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), a workshop for officials from all urban bodies in Jaipur district, the RUDIP/AMRUT 2.0 project, and the Jal Jeevan Mission was held on Tuesday in the Jaipur Municipal Corporation auditorium, chaired by K.K. Gupta, Brand Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), Rajasthan.
Addressing the workshop, Brand Ambassador Gupta stated that cleanliness holds the key to the health and prosperity of the nation’s citizens. Cleanliness is not a one-day task, but a year-round virtuous act. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, we should all aim to make Jaipur pothole-, dirt-, and plastic-free. Negligence in sanitation work will not be tolerated. He stated that to make Jaipur clean and beautiful, sanitation work should be prioritized and carried out regularly by creating WhatsApp groups, involving relevant officials in all municipalities as well as ordinary citizens living in the neighborhoods. He emphasized several key points for effective implementation of cleanliness on the ground, including 100% waste collection, separation of wet and dry waste, timely garbage collection 365 days a year, monitoring through GPS, and penalty system through software.
Apart from this, he gave instructions for cleaning public toilets and urinals thrice a day (monitoring through geo tagged photos), penalty and seizure action for not cleaning vacant plots, regular night cleaning in commercial areas, maintaining proper lighting on electric poles, sending stray cows to cow shelters, cleaning drains with high-pressure machines, keeping gardens clean and beautiful and ensuring prompt disposal of complaints received in urban bodies.
On this occasion, Additional District Collector Jaipur (IV) Ashish Kumar, DC Om Thanvi and executive officers of urban bodies of Jaipur district along with officers of concerned departments were present.
