Painting Workshop Aims to Strengthen Democracy by Raising Voter Awareness

A painting workshop was organized on Friday at the Chaturdik Art Gallery of Jawahar Kala Kendra, under the joint auspices of the State Election Commission, Rajasthan, and the Rajasthan School of Art, Jaipur, to commemorate the 16th National Voters’ Day. The painting workshop was inaugurated by Jaipur District Election Officer and Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni. On this occasion, he said that the purpose of organizing the painting workshop is to strengthen democracy by raising voter awareness.Dr. Anil Kumar Khandelwal, Principal of Rajasthan School of Art, Jaipur, informed that this painting workshop is organized annually by the State Election Department in collaboration with the college on every National Voters’ Day. This year, 35 students from Rajasthan School of Art and the Indian Institute of Craft and Design participated in the competition. All the participating students created paintings based on the theme of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) provided by the Election Department. The coordinator of this workshop, Pankaj Yadav, Assistant Professor, informed that the best 10 artworks were awarded by the Honorable District Magistrate. All the paintings will be displayed at the state-level function organized at the Rajasthan International Centre, Jaipur, on January 25, 2026, on the occasion of the 16th National Voters’ Day, which will be inaugurated and viewed by His Excellency Governor Haribhau Bagde.On this occasion, the nodal officer appointed by the District Election Officer, Sanghamitra Bardia, Electoral Registration Officer, Bagru, and the Assistant Nodal Officer, Bajrang Lal Swami, Electoral Registration Officer, Amer, were also present and provided their full support in making the program a success.
